Okay this post is super late... we are already in February.... I really suck at this blogging thing which is probably why no one reads it. ANYWAYS, let's get down to business!
西野カナ - LOVE it
You already know this album was boring, cause kana does not produce interesting albums anymore. Luckily, there were TWO songs i kept. Yes, two, which is the average rate of songs I keep from Kana albums now. Wow 2014 me would have never thought this would happen.
1. We're the miracles 10/10
This is your perfect upbeat, happy, inspirational song. The lyrics are corny, but who cares about that when this song sends me thinking my dreams will actually come true one day! If i ever decide to get my shit together that is....
2. Happy Time 8/10
Yes, the song is called Happy Time, so you already know the lyrics are cheesy too, but why does that have to be a bad thing? Its a cute song, and catchy of course. Oh, happy time happy time~
Super Junior - PLAY
Okay, this album is not as good as Jolin Tsais PLAY, as 99.99% people would have guessed, but its surprisingly their best work since... Mr. Simple? There last few albums have been.... yeah... anyways. Super Junior decided to actually try this time around.
1. Black Suit 8/10
2. Scene Stealer 7/10 (If Eunhyuk or Shindong could actually rap this song would have gotten a 8)
3. 비처럼 가지 마요 (One More Chance) 7/10
4. Good Day for a Good Day 8/10
5. The Lucky Ones 8.5/10
6. 시간 차 (Too late) 8/10
Overall, the album is consistently nice. No ear bleeding messes, and nothing over the top. It's nothing special though, and i barely listen to it, but the songs listed are good songs that deserve to be kept. I like the sound and approach they took for this album. It's really clean, which is weird for this group to be honest.
Red Velvet - Perfect Velvet
I know a lot of people call this a great album, but its not. Its a cohesive album, its a clean album, its a well produced album, it's an interesting album, but it is not an album with more than three keepable tracks. Most of the songs on here are just either too cookie cutter, or just too boring. I feel with this album, as well as their last + f(x)'s last albums SM make them really trendy so international fans go crazy for it, but the songs are never anything special, and sound like unfinished demos or scrapped songs. Honestly this is the case for ALL SM artists, I only mention RV and F(x) cause their music (more so F(x)) is SO overrated online. Aesthetic really makes peoples bar fall to the floor.
1. 피카부 (Peek-A-Boo) 8.5/10
Yeri's part is SO good, and honestly I loved rookie because of the verses she sang. She's just so charming on songs and it's really a great addition to their songs since the others are all very vocally strong, so her voice adds something different. If the other 4 couldn't sing.... that would be an issue though. This is a really great title, but it did get boring fast which sucks cause at first listen it bangs!
2. Kingdom Come 9/10
A very VERY well produced song. Effects, vocal melody throughout, especially at the chorus is perfect. I would not change a thing about this song. Red Velvet did a great job singing this song.
3. 두 번째 데이트 (My Second Date) 10/10
This song is SO GOOD. I haven't loved a song from an SM artists this much in a while. I was SO addicted to it. Although it can get old quickly, I still love this song. Production is great on this too, its just SO catchy!
